Our mission
At melima, we've made it our mission to rethink children's clothing and encourage critical thinking. What do we really need? Is that wool jacket perhaps a better investment than five cheap polyester sweaters? From my experience as a mother, I can only encourage all expectant parents to prioritize quality over quantity. Children will thank us for it, because they notice the difference.
- Rethinking children's clothing
- Quality over quantity
The material is what matters.
Especially before their first child, many parents wonder: how much clothing do I actually need?
The answer is actually very simple: 1-2 wool basics in every size. Nothing more. Because wool is a superb natural material and can care for us all year round.
- Temperature-regulating (no overheating or undercooling)
- Odorless (sweat is absorbed immediately)
- Antibacterial
- Protection against UV rays (UVA+B)
- Dirt and water repellent
- Self-cleaning (ventilate instead of washing!!)
- Suitable for sensitive skin
- Wash less often (saves money)
- High resale value (can be resold for at least 50-80% of the purchase price)
- Durable and robust
- Scratch-free and soft
- Elastic and wrinkle-free
- No microplastics or petroleum
- Biodegradable
Zero Waste
Few other industries consume as many resources as the clothing industry. Often, garments are only worn briefly and then end up in the clothing (waste) container. Merino wool is particularly popular and durable, making it easy to resell, whereas cotton clothing is nearly impossible to get rid of.
Choosing a high-quality material like merino wool not only pays off financially, but also saves you the hassle of dealing with endless piles of clothes... Our merino clothing that grows with your child saves you time and energy, and you don't always have to think about getting the next size up.
- Less clothing – more money and space
- Merino wool instead of cotton
- Pass it on instead of throwing it away
- Invest in good basics and save yourself a lot of stress.
